Ask any American what product they use on their hair and they will probably tell you rusk! But despite being featured in the likes of Your Hair magazine, Sophisticate’s Hairstyle Guide & OK! magazine, the brand hasn’t really taken off over here. So we decided to trial it for ourselves & sent Suzanna one of our stylists off to try a few products. Here is her verdict…
rusk deepshine sea kelp conditioner - An intensive & luxurious conditioner made from sea kelp which can also be left in for maximum conditioning. Excellent for use with all hair types.
Suzanna’s verdict: there is no doubt this is a great conditioner, but to be honest I’m such a tigi addict that I would have a hard time converting to this brand! However, if you stuck this conditioner in a tigi type branded bottle & infused it with tigi type aroma’s I would be raving about it! So hey what I guess I’m trying to say is although I am completely biased towards bed head, this is a really good conditioner! I asked 5 friends to try it & 3 said they would definitely buy it!
rusk being undressed gloss - A great way to enhance the appearance & condition of your hair, adding high definition gloss whilst controlling & creating style!
Suzanna’s verdict: now this product really impressed me, it smelt nice, it went onto my hair well & held my style in for the duration of the day. And I just totally love the fact it comes in a pink pot! Yeah this gets a big thumbs up from me!
rusk being wilde paste – A great product for creating thick, chunky pieces or stylish separation & definition within your hair style.
Suzanna’s verdict: as this is obvioulsy a product aimed at shorted styles / blokes I applied this to me blokes hair instead! It was extremely managable & seperated his hair well. Yeah I really like this product & he did too. Again the packaging is fresh & funky so really appealed to me!
rusk being primative clay – A flexible, yet powerful clay that will enable you to add great texture, definition & diffused shine to your hair.
Suzanna’s verdict: Oh yeah I got quite excited about this one! Again, it wasn’t really a product suited to my luscious locks so I just grabbed 3 random blokes in the office and wacked it on! They were raving about it all day & 2 of them went out and bought it! Great clay for adding shine!

The now discontinued Tigi Shine Junkie
Tigi have discontinued my favourite EVER product, shine junkie, what’s the alternative?
David george writes: Lots of people are gutted about the fact that shine junkie has now been discontinued and that includes me as a stylist !!!
Two products which spring to mind are matrix defining elixir which is a great product to soften and smoothen the hair whilst adding shine. The other one is kms hairplay soft wax which has a wonderful soft texture which provides hold and a nice shine too.
